Visit our new website. Learn about our Worship Services, Sunday School and the Spiritual Resources at the Birmingham Christian Science Reading Room and online.

Hybrid Sunday Services at 10:15 a.m.

We are now meeting in-person at 355 E. Maple Rd. in downtown Birmingham. If you prefer to atend online, email mail us at cschbham1@att.net for instructions on how to join the Zoom meeting.

Sunday Services provide a quiet time each week for prayer and meditation, and consist of music, scriptural readings and a Bible Lesson Sermon.

Fresh every week, the Sermon gathers stories and texts from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. It is the same sermon heard on Sundays in Christian Science branch churches and societies in 70 countries around the world.

Two members of our congregation are elected as Readers and lead the service.

Sunday School

Meets at the same time as the church service. For information, send email to: SundaySchool@christiansciencebirminghammi.com

Students up to the age of 20 delve into the Bible and Science and Health to learn about their relationship to God. They join other spiritual explorers in applying Biblical truths to daily life, answering tough questions, and practicing Christian healing.

Children are taught the Scriptures and are instructed according to their level of understanding. Lessons are based on the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, the Sermon on the Mount and other inspired passages from the Bible.  The weekly Christian Science Bible lesson may also be discussed.  Students learn they can find answers to their questions about meeting daily challenges at school and home, as well as in relationships and other concerns through prayer.  Students and teachers often are in touch during the week to further support spiritual progress.
